Machhiwara Sahib, May 2
A youth of Machhiwara was found dead at a railway track in Morena district (MP) under mysterious circumstances.
The deceased has been identified as Gurpreet Singh (23), a resident of Mubarkpur village. Sources said Gurpreet was the driver of a combine harvester and had gone to Madhya Pradesh. On April 19, he along and two other youths finished their work and boarded a train for Punjab from Dabre city. His two companions reached their village — Haider Nagar near Sahnewal — but he did not reach his home.
Seven youths from Gurpreet’s village, his brother, and the two companions of Gurpreet left for MP to search for him. The Morena police told that his body was found on a railway track in pieces without any identity proof and money. The police had buried the body and gave the clothes of the deceased to his brother.
Meanwhile, companions of the deceased disappeared from the scene and have been missing. Deceased’s brother Mohan Singh alleged that Gurpreet was murdered by the two.
Village Sarpanch Ajmer Singh said they had demanded compensation for the family and action against the missing persons for allegedly killing Gurpreet.
