Laurels for GMT Public
The GMT Public School, Jalandhar bypass, has been awarded as the Best School 2016 in National Colouring, Handwriting, and Essay Writing Contest organised by Students Development Society, Aurangabad in December last year. School Principal, Ravinder Kaur, has been awarded as the Best Principal 2016 and activity organiser, Meenu Verma has been awarded for Kala Shri Award 2016. Riya Chaudhary, Khushdeep, Karina, Kashika and Bhavika have been awarded for Kala Gaurav Award 2016. Tina and Priya Bhatia have been awarded for Kala Bhushan Award 2016. School Management and Principal congratulated the students for this achievement.
GLOBAL VOTE
Students of DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur, participated in global vote today for World’s Children’s Prize for the rights of the child. Students from class V to XII exercised their votes for the three candidates namely Rosi Gollmann from Germany, Manuel Rodrigues from Africa and Molly Melching from West Africa who have been selected by the Children’s Prize Jury for the World’s Children’s Prize. These three candidates have been nominated for their courageous struggle against child labour, child marriage, forced marriage , female genital cutting, trafficking to put a stop to acid and petrol violence. They were nominated for their excellent work for the service of mankind. All the children voted very enthusiastically. Yogesh Gambhir, Principal of the school, encouraged the children for global vote.
GOLD MEDALLISTS
The new session of the school began with a bang when the hard work of the students brought laurels to the school. Various Olympiads were organised in the last days in the subjects of Maths and English in which Archita, Harjotvir and Anshika won gold medals where as Mannat of Class XII won a silver medal. As many as 25 students were given participation certificates for their excellent performance in Maths Olympiad. It was a special day for the primary section as Karmandeep Kaur won cash awards of Rs 250/- and Rs 100/- respectively and Ekjot Kaur won scholarship in the competition organised by Sarvodaya Shrishti Ojha got special award in the same competition.
WORLD WATER DAY CELEBRATED
World Water Day was celebrated by organising a special assembly at Ram Lal Bhasin Public School, Dugri. Teachers threw the light on the present status of water. Students from various classes expressed their views on the scarcity of water and the dire need to save it. Yadvi from Class VI recited a poem, leaving a beautiful and valuable message. Besides, a poster-making competition had also been conducted from classes VI-XII.
MOTIVATIONAL WORKSHOP FOR TEACHERS
Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, BRS Nagar, Ludhiana, organised a motivational session for teaching staff. Motivational Speaker Shamina Deol, a motivational speaker delivered the lecture on th e topic .The goal of the workshop was to train and prepare teachers to gain an edge to compete effectively with stress of life and mentoring them to find niche in this competitive world. She emphasised on teacher’s role in shaping students personality as a counsellor. She inspired the teachers to take learning outcome of the workshop to the students in the classroom. The session covered the necessary areas for improvement as communication skills, listening etiquettes, confidence building and positive body language. Teachers were full of zest and zeal after attending the motivating and knowledgeable session with which they will reap the benefits of stress free life.
LAST WORKING DAY
Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, wore the festive look, illuminating with shining faces of little Green Knights on their last working day of academic session 2016-17. Students enjoyed rides, danced on the beats of dancing songs making their day memorable. Handmade teddy cards were given to the students by their teachers with lovable messages. Teachers recalled their happy memories with tiny tots. Students were all set to join the new session for more fun and learning in their school. Principal of the school, Jyoti, congratulated all the students for their diligence and brilliant performances of this session and asked for a promise to achieve new heights in the coming session.
GREEN OLYMPIAD
The CBSE- TERI Green Olympiad was held in the GNPS, Sarabha Nagar, for students from classes VIII to X. The Olympiad is conducted by The Energy and Resource Institute. Six students from the school received certificate of distinction and 48 students received certificates of merit. Principal Mona Singh congratulated the winners and said it is a commendable effort by the CBSE to assess environment.
