Ludhiana, October 10
The supporters of Joga Singh Khalistani continued their dharna for the fifth day at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital today.
Though they were visited by Commissioner of Police Jatinder Singh Aulakh, the supporters were not moved by the mere ‘assurances’ of the police. The supporters have decided to start a kirtan on the protest site tomorrow and they will also burn the effigy of the Chief Minister in the evening.
The supporters have been sitting on dharna for the immediate arrest of accused Sandeep Singh, a Sikh preacher of the Damdami Taksal. Manvider Singh Gyaspura, a supporter, said enough assurances were given in the past but no results came out of it.
“Today also, the police gave assurances that the culprits will be arrested soon. But till the time we see the killers of Joga Singh behind the bars, we will not leave the ongoing struggle,” he said. Khalistani died after battling for life for about three months.
