As a humanitarian gesture, the Army’s Rising Star Arsenal Brigade organised medical and veterinary camps for people residing in border areas of Billawar region in Jammu and Kashmir.
Over 1,000 heads of livestock were examined by a team of two veterinary doctors from the Army and veterinary staff from the local health administration and treatment was provided where required.
A separate camp was organised for civilians of the area, where a team of doctors from the Army Medical Corps and civilian medical staff provided check-up facilities and distributed free medicines to the needy. Senior Army officials interacted with heads of villages in the Billawar region.
The occasion provided an opportunity to spread awareness about the importance of ongoing national flagship campaigns like Sukanya Samriddhi Yojna, Prime Minister’s Jeevan Jyoti Beema Yojna and Suraksha Beema Yojna.
Ex-servicemen in the region were apprised of Aadhar card linked Jeevan Pramaan Yojna to facilitate timely disbursement of pension.
The Army, in association with local bank branches, facilitated the opening of Sukanya Samriddhi Yojna account as part of girl child empowerment.
