Herbalife launches two new products
Herbalife International India, a leading nutrition company, today announced the upgradation of its associate touch point here in Ludhiana to a premium product pickup point. Announcing the company’s move, Ajay Khanna, vice-president and general manager, Herbalife International India, said, “In our pursuit to find ways and means to make it easier for our associates to transact and conduct business, infrastructure expansion is one of our key strategic move. We have today upgraded the facility to a premium product pickup point. This new upgraded facility in Ludhiana will offer a host of services to our associates from product order placement to over-the-counter pick up and customer service. Additionally, with a warehouse attached to this centre, home delivery of products will now become faster and easier.” On this occasion, Khanna announced the launch of 2 new products – the Formula 1 Orange Cream, a nutritious meal replacement shake; and Afresh Cinnamon flavour energy drink. Other flavors in the Formula 1 shake include Vanilla, Chocolate and Mango. The Cinnamon flavor of energy drink complements the existing line-up of flavors – Ginger, Elaichi, Lemon and Peach.
Vigilance awareness week
State Bank of Patiala, Sector, 32 A, organised vigilance awareness week at Shivalik Vidiya Mandir School Sukhdev Nagar, Bhamia road. A speech and essay writing competition was also organised. Manager Alok Shirivastav along with school principal Ravi Khullar and VK Khullar distributed prizes to winners of competition.
MoU signed
FIEO inks agreement with a certification body to Counter SPS and TBT measures. With the multilateral and bilateral trade agreements taking the order of trade development the tariff barriers are gradually going away. However, the non-tariff measures - sanitary and phyto-sanitary measures (SPS) and also the technical barriers to trade (TBT) are gaining more relevance, be it for the purposes of standardisation, conformity assessment, product and consumer safety, conforming the environmental and social requirements etc. or for the purposes as being used as tools to restrict imports from competing countries of the world, said Ajay Sahai, Director General & CEO, FIEO. The declining trends in Indian exports demand appropriate response and action towards the growing number of SPS and TBT measures, being adopted by various countries, from all the stakeholders involved in value chain including Government, FIEO and exporting industry as a whole, added Thomas Fuhrmann, managing director, TUV, Rheinland India Pvt. Ltd.
It is very much required that Indian exporters rightly understand the applicable SPS-TBT measures in exporting countries or countries of use of Indian manufactured goods & services. Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with TUV Rheinland India Pvt Ltd, a group company of TUV Rheinland, Germany to support its members in better understanding the requirements related to standardization, conformity assessment, product & consumer safety, applicable social and environmental requirements, meet the growing private standards in order to enhance and contribute towards the overall market competitiveness of Indian exporters, help them become part of global supply chain and ultimately have smooth market access across the global markets.
