Green Land Sr Sec Public School
Keeping the spirit of patriotism alive, the staff and students at Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar Bypass, celebrated Independence Day with zeal. Chairman-cum-Director of the chain of Green Land schools, Rajesh Rudhra, and president Shabad Rudhra along with Principal Baldeep Pandher and other members of the managing committee hoisted the National flag. NCC cadets of 3 Punjab Batallion accorded a guard of honour and march past. Students presented a cultural show. They also presented a fancy dress show and paid homage to martyrs and expressed their love and concern for the nation.
Guru Nanak International Public School
Guru Nanak International Public School, BRS Nagar, celebrated Independence Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. Students participated in various activities such as patriotic poem recitation, speeches and patriotic songs throughout the week. They showcased their talent and paid tributes to Indian freedom fighters. Debates, declamations and poetical recitation competitions were also held.
Bhartiya Vidya Mandir
The 69th Independence Day was celebrated with nationalistic spirit and pride at Bhartiya Vidya Mandir. Everyone sang the National anthem in unison and expressed the joy of freedom. The whole campus was adorned with bright hues of Tri-colour. The celebration concluded with the singing of Vande Matram.
Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Sen Sec School
Patriotic fervour marked the Independence Day at Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh Road. The National flag was unfurled, while others sang the National anthem with ardent devotion. The school campus echoed with melodious patriotic songs, ‘Bharat Vande Mataram’ and ‘Jahan dal dal pe sone ki chidiya karti hai basera’ were sung by students. Students attired in Tricolour performed a group dance on ‘Vande Mataram’ which filled the atmosphere with the essence of patriotism. The play ‘Salute to Patriots’ depicted martyrs who suffered to achieve their goal of complete independence from the foreign yoke.
UPSC Jain Public School
On the eve of 69th Independence Day, students of UPSC Jain Public School presented programs with patriotic fervour and zeal. The programme commenced with the flag-hoisting ceremony by school president Tarsem Kumar Jain followed by the National anthem. Students were explained the glorious history of India’s freedom, which was followed by speeches offering felicitations to freedom fighters for the commendable spirit shown by them in protecting the country from internal and external dangers.
BCM Senior Secondary School Chandigarh Road
BCM Senior Secondary School Chandigarh Road celebrated Independence Day with great regard and pride for the nation. School manager SK Mehta expressed his heartfelt emotions and remembered the days when the nation was struggling for freedom. He said this freedom was attained after countless sacrifices, adding that martyrs must not be forgotten. Principal DP Guleria recalled the two gems the nation lost this month, Dr APJ Kalam and OP Munjal, both of whom devoted their lives for the welfare of common man, ignoring their own comfort and interests.
Sri Guru Hargobind Public Sr Sec School
Sri Guru Hargobind Public Senior Secondary School, Thakkarwal, celebrated the 69th Independence Day with fervor. The programme commenced with the unfurling of the Tricolor. This was followed by energetic march past by four houses. School girls presented a colourful presentation of aerobics and boys presented yoga. Student’s choir presented melodies patriotic songs. House wise fancy dress competition was held. Principal Suman Arora delivered her speech about imbibing the qualities of leadership and stressed on the importance of freedom.
Nankana Sahib Public School
The 69th Independence Day was celebrated with great zeal at Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill Park. Students sang melodious songs which filled one and all with patriotic fervour. The students of primary wing expressed their delight by waving tiny flags. An enthralling dance performance was presented on the song ‘Des Rangeela’ by the girls portraying the theme of the day. Apart from this, a solemn investiture ceremony for the school student council (2015-16) was also conducted. The Principal exhorted the newly appointed council to perform their duties to the best of their ability and enthusiasm. The ceremony concluded with the National anthem sung by the school choir.
BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School
The Independence Day was celebrated with ardent devotion and patriotism at BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar. Rich tributes were paid to freedom fighters. The school campus echoed with melodious patriotic songs. The function started with the flag-hoisting ceremony by freedom fighter Rajinder Pal Sayal, who was the chief guest, followed by the march past and cultural programme by students. They gave a colourful PT display, yoga and gymnastics performance. Tae kwon do feats stole the hearts of audience. Choreography ‘Mission Kargil’ depicted the struggle of soldiers who laid down their lives to defend the borders. Principal Dr Paramjit Kaur exhorted students to be patriotic in all their deeds by being disciplined, unselfish and broadminded in their approach towards life.
