Fire at Elante Mall, tragedy averted

A major tragedy was averted this evening when a fire broke out on the third floor of the Elante Mall, Industrial area, Phase I. However, no one was injured in the incident.

According to information, the Fire and Emergency Department of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, received a call at 6.50 pm about the fire incident in a private restaurant of the food corner. A fire tender was immediately rushed to the spot.

The firefighters controlled the fire within 10-15 mintutes but it took around two hours to clear the smoke. Sources revealed that the reason of the fire was sparking in the kitchen area of the private restaurant.

Due to fire incident, panic had gripped the customers. However, no loss of life was reported.
