Film star Som Dutt dies

Yamunanagar, January 5

Film star Som Dutt (77), the younger brother of late cine star Sunil Dutt and uncle of Sanjay Dutt, died on Sunday after a prolonged illness.

He was cremated at his ancestral village, Mandoli, near Yamunanagar, last evening. Som Dutt had acted in 22 films. Two of his films, Man Ka Meet and Nanak Naam Jahaj, won the national awards in 1969. He returned to his village from Mumbai many years ago. He is survived by wife Promila, a son and two daughters. — OC
