Candidates turned up at Collectorate offices to file nomination papers amid huge gatherings of supporters here today.

Meanwhile, residents faced the brunt of traffic congestion due to rally taken out by political parties. A total of four nominations were filed at different places in the district.

Congress candidate Dinesh Agarwal, who is the sitting MLA from the Dharampur Assembly constituency, went along with his supporters and filed his nomination papers. He said if voted to power again, he would work for the overall development of the constituency.

Meanwhile, sitting MLA Umesh Sharma “Kau” who had recently joined the BJP, and is a sitting MLA from Raipur, also filed his nomination papers. Congress candidate Preetam Singh and Navprahbat have filed nomination papers at Kalsi and Vikasnagar constituencies, respectively.
