CM Award for Mohali SSP; President’s Police Medal for two cops

Mohali Senior Superintendent of Police, Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, IPS, will be conferred the Chief Minister Award for his meritorious service at the state-level Independence Day function, to be held at Government College, Phase VI, tomorrow.
Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal will give the award to SSP Bhullar during the function. Bhullar has already received the President’s Police Medal, Police Medal for Gallantry and President of India’s Colour for his commendable services.
Bhullar, who has been serving the Mohali district for the second time, has already served as the Senior Superintendent of Police in seven districts. Bhullar, a national-level hockey player, had joined the Punjab Police as DSP in 1991. Bhullar has played an important role in busting a number of criminal and terrorist gangs in the state and has initiated anti-terrorist operations in J&K. He was elevated to the IPS two years ago.
President’s Police Medal for two Mohali cops
Mohali CIA in-charge Inspector Gurcharan Singh and Inspector Tarlochan Singh have been selected for the President Meritorious Police Medal.
Inspector Gurcharan Singh, currently in-charge of the CIA, Mohali wing for past 11 years, has been instrumental in working out a number of heinous crime cases, including murders, busting of major gangs, dacoities, and robberies. Inspector Gurcharan Singh, who had joined the force as ASI in 1992. Inspector Tarlochan Singh, who had also joined the force as an ASI in 1992, is currently posted as the Station House Officer of the Zirakpur police station.
