CM attends last rites of wife’s nephew

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today attended the last rites of his wife’s nephew Akansh Sen, who succumbed to his injuries at the PGI, Chandigarh, after being overrun by a BMW, at his native village in Kuthar, Kasauli tehsil.
He consoled the grief-stricken family members. The body of the 28-year-old was brought to Kuthar from the PGI for his last rites by his father Arun Sen, aunt Pratibha Singh and cousin Vikramaditya Singh today.
A pall of gloom descended on his alma mater Pinegrove School, Dharampur, where the staff and headmaster AJ Singh remembered him as an intelligent and well-behaved boy who was a good orator and cricketer. He was also the school’s head boy.
Social Justice and Empowerment Minister DR Shandil, Chief Parliamentary Secretaries Neeraj Bharti and ID Lakhanpal, MLAs Anirudh Singh, Karnesh Jung and Ram Kumar Chaudhary, Chief Secretary VC Pharka, DGP Sanjay Kumar, chairmen and vice-chairmen of various boards and corporations, son-in-law of CM Angad Singh, senior officers of the state government and other relatives were also present.
Irrigation and Public Health Minister Vidya Stokes also visited the Kuthar palace.
