Bhagwant, wife file for divorce

Well-known comedian and Aam Aadmi Party Member of Parliament from Sangrur Bhagwant Mann and his wife Inderpreet Kaur filed an application for divorce in a court here today.

According to reports, the application was filed under Section 13-B of the Hindu Marriage Act for divorce by mutual consent. The next date of hearing has been fixed for October 1.

It is learnt that both Mann and Inderpreet Kaur went together to the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Parminder Pal Singh for filing the application.

They again came in the afternoon for signing required documents. The statements of the two were recorded in the court.

The couple will have to wait for six months before the court approves their divorce. Bhagwant Mann has a son and a daughter, both of whom stay with their mother in California most of the time. Mann lives in Delhi and Mohali.
