Adil finished two strokes ahead of his friend and fellow golfer Manav Bais from Delhi. The win enabled Aadil move to third spot in the Indian Golf Union merit list for A-Category.

The young golfer will next feature in the Southern India Junior Golf event to be held at the Eagleton Golf Resort in Bangalore before moving to the USA for Junior Golf World Cup later this month.

The 15-year-old, who trains under coach Jesse Grewal at the Chandigarh Golf Association, said it was a tough contest as he was the youngest participant in the category.

"I have just moved to A-Category (15-18 years) and this win will surely boost my confidence. I will be facing players from the rest of the world in the World Cup in the USA next month and such national championships are important to gain some experience for big events," said Bedi.

About his performance, Bedi said he was working on short game, particularly putting. "The regular practice is helping me to score low with new putting techniques. This season I have played 12 rounds in domestic circuit and shot seven rounds of level par and below. I am sure to bring medal for my country in the World Cup," he added.
