Srinagar, July 24
The Chinar Corps inaugurated a newly constructed complex of Chinar Army Pre Primary School (CAPPS) at Badami Bagh Cantonment here today.
A Defence spokesman said the new complex was inaugurated by Lt Gen Subrata Saha, GOC 15 Corps. He said the old complex of Chinar Army Pre-Primary School (CAPPS) had been completely submerged in the devastating flood which struck Srinagar in September 2014.
“The new complex has been constructed at a new location, with the entire infrastructure and modern facilities, at a cost of Rs 2.38 crore in a record time. A large number of children of this school belong to the local areas of Srinagar. The parents of the children rendered full faith and support to the school authorities and continued sending their beloved ones to the school, which was operating at a make shift place,” the spokesman said.
“The new school complex is yet another testimony to the firm resolve of Chinar Corps to not only restore assets damaged during floods, but to create even better state-of-the-art institution with contemporary amenities,” he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Saha said: “We don’t have any institution for tiny tots which is prettier than this newly constructed school. This school takes care of every conceivable need of the toddlers.”
He also thanked the parents of children belonging to local areas for reposing continued trust and faith in the Army school.
