Amrik Singh Dhillon, Congress party candidate from the Samrala constituency, won for the fourth time - with a margin of 11, 005 votes. He received 51,930 votes and defeated AAP candidate Sarbans Singh Manki who got 40, 925 votes, while Akali Dal-BJP candidate Santa Singh Umaidpuri got 38,112 votes. Congress candidate Amrik Singh Dhillon had lost only once - 2007 election - and had won in 1997, 2002, 2012 and now 2017.
