Leaders of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) took out a rally in various parts of the district today.

The rally was led by Anandpur Sahib MP Prem Singh Chandumajra. All converged on Bahadurgarh from where a road show was taken out, which passed through various parts of the district.

Later, the Akali leaders, including Cabinet Minister Surjit Singh Rakhra and Chandumajra, assembled at Gurdwara Dukhniwaran Sahib, where they made an announcement of launching an election campaign in the eight constituencies of Patiala district, which are considered to be Congress stronghold.

Chandumajra, who was here with his son and newly appointed halqa incharge from Sanaur Harinderpal Singh, trained guns on PPCC chief Capt Amarinder Singh and said his “Coffee with Captain” campaign was a mockery as coffee was not part of Punjabi culture.

“The AAP government has proved to be a failure in Delhi and it was not even a challenge for the ruling party in the state and Congress is now a pack demoralised aspirants after the party faced a debacle in five states,” the MP said.
