A costly affair

A Tango dance sequence in Bhushan Kumar’s Roy cost Jacqueline Fernandez a bomb. The actress broke her shoe heel while doing a Tango dance with Ranbir Kapoor. Jacqueline tripped on a curb and broke one of her heels.

A source present on the set said, “When Jacqueline was told about the dance sequence, she brought a pair of heels from her own collection, as she was comfortable dancing in them.”

Jacqueline was little upset on losing her favourite pair of shoes. Later, she told the director Vikramjit Singh that those were one of her favourite shoes and it cost her Rs 2 lakh. But, the actress managed to regain her composure and completed the shoot by changing into another pair of shoes given by the production house.

When contacted, Jacqueline said, “It was a Tango dance sequence and I was comfortable dancing in my shoes. But little did I know that these shoes won’t support this dance form and I ended up breaking my heels. The production house had a pair of shoes which were apt for the dance form and I danced in them.” Meanwhile, Jacqueline has reportedly designed a new accessory to wear in the song Sooraj dooba hai. The accessory called a jegling is a chain worn on the leg and Jacqueline seems quite excited about getting to wear it in the film.

Talking about the piece, she said, “It was my decision to design the jegling and the only guideline was that it should look stylish. I wanted to create something funky that went with Ayesha’s personality. Vicky (director Vicky Singh) was more than happy to allow me to design it, and he loved it so much that he decided to make it an important part of the character.”

Roy is the story of a thief played by Ranbir Kapoor alongside actors Arjun Rampal who portrays a confident yet brazen director and Jacqueline Fernandez, a coy romantic girl. Produced by Divya Khosla Kumar, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar, Roy has been directed by Vikramjit Singh.
