A beautiful venture
Six girls from the City Beautiful — Vasudha Bhatia, Divyani Gandhi, Pushpinder Kaur, Shruti Tuli, Navpreet Kaur and Divya Raval — have been shortlisted during the city auditions for Femina Miss India 2016 contest.
For Divyani Gandhi, currently pursuing a course in graphic designing in Pune, it is her ‘love for the stage’ that helped her sail through. “I have always been actively participating in extra-curricular activities. My friends spotted a spark in me and encouraged me to hit the ramp in college shows. Being here feels great. I am living a dream,” she gushes. Ask her what sets Chandigarh apart from the other cities and she replies, “Chandigarh girls have made a mark in the industry. Incidentally, Aditi Arya is a product of my school - Sacred Heart Convent. So, it goes without saying that Chandigarh divas have what it takes to make it big.”
Pushpinder Kaur, 24, from Ludhiana, credits her ‘luck’ for the success. “I have always eyed this prestigious title and consider myself lucky to have moved a step closer to realising my dream.” Shruti Tuli from Amritsar shared, a prospective Miss India “must have beauty with brains to truly deserve the title.”
Product of SD College, Vasudha Bhatia from Panchkula shares that her father encouraged her to go for the auditions. While, GCG student Divya Rawal says, “I will just be myself during the final round.”
The youngest of the lot, 18-year-old Navpreet Kaur, who hails from Jalandhar, says she is relishing ‘every moment of her new journey’. The shortlisted contestants from the city will walk the ramp during final auditions in Mumbai. — TNS
