Punjab cinema’s sizzling hot men

If crooning Punjabi hit numbers and even acting in Hindi films wasn’t enough, singer-actors from the Punjabi film industry have hit the gym and been pumping iron with a vengeance! The result is hot and fit bodies, with drool-worthy six-pack abs!
Singer-actors of Punjab are leaving no stone unturned to woo their female fans, as well as to make Bollywood look up and notice them. To get the perfect look, they are even hiring personal trainers of Bollywood superstars. If one Punjabi actor is training with a fitness trainer of Bollywood stars, the other has been following a diet chart tabulated by Shahid Kapoor’s dietician. These Punjabi actors are even sharing pictures of their workouts in the gym with their fans.
Who can forget singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh’s photoshoot for his Punjabi film Sardaarji 2. The actor removed his shirt for the first time in the film and let his fans take a good look at how much he has worked on his body!
“Fitness is not a discovery, neither for me, nor for the boys of the Punjabi film industry. What is new is the reach of Punjabi music, which has directly affected the singers in a good way. These singers know that they are being seen by many non-Punjabis. They are even setting the trends. So besides singing well, they have to look fit,” shares Kartar Cheema, the fit man of the Punjabi film industry. Cheema had made it to the cover of the health magazine a few years back.
The growing reach and acceptability of Punjabi music is the major reason for singers shifting their focus on their bodies. Setting new style statements, regular grooming lessons, the Punjabi singer actors are now showing off their fitness fads as well.
Jassi Gill is the recent entrant in the hot and fit category. This singer actor has hired Moe, a professional trainer from Muscle Factory, which handles the fitness training of many Bollywood actors. Moe has been managing Jassi’s training as well as diet. The actor has been showing off his six-packs on Twitter as well as Facebook. Says the singer, who wants to be the sexiest actor, “Jokes apart, it feels nice to look great.”
On Punjabi music industry’s latest fascination for abs, Jassi smiles and raises his hands. “I felt the need to work on my body after performing live shows across the country and on the international front,” adds the singer, who has been on a total no carbohydrate diet for almost six months now.
Jassi is not the only one who is spending more time in the gym than with his friends, Punjabi singer and anchor B Jay Randhawa is another Punjabi artiste, who finds more solace in knowing that there isn’t an inch of extra flab on him.
“Invariably, Punjabi men are blessed with good looks. They are tall, well-built, and if they decide to pump iron religiously, forget about Bollywood, they can be the sexiest men of the world.” B Jay, however, attributes the new inclination towards fitness in Punjabi entertainment industry to the success of their songs and work.
This is a statement that gets a second from fitness expert Reiki Singh from Mumbai, who has been training quite a few Punjabi singer actors as a private fitness instructor. Reiki observed that since Punjabi boys and girls are blessed with good looks, they don’t care much about fitness. “Given the kind of diet Punjabis have, a low fat or a no carbohydrate diet is like strangulating them. But I am surprised to see many singers following a strict fitness and dietary regime to get into shape. Now they just don’t talk about fitness, they want to have great bodies too.”
The way Punjabi singer actors are spending time in the gym, it looks like we would soon see their names in the list of hottest and sexiest actors!
