A two-day World Scholar‘s Cup, hosted by Learning Paths School, here, began with noted academician Daniel Berdichevsky setting the theme and delivering the keynote address.
Nearly 280 students from 15 schools of the region are participating in the event.
The educationist, writer and researcher from the USA said the present education brought a lot of insecurities in the child, be it insecurity in relation to peers, intense drive to succeed, inability to focus on blessings or parental rejection. All of them reached into an adult’s life in a real way.
Elaborating on this year’s theme, ‘An imperfect world’, the students on the first day, through debate, collaborative writing, multiple choice tests and quizzes, touched upon related topics such as crime and justice, disease and public health, when states faltered.
Recognised as a global academic tournament, the core idea behind the summit is to motivate students to focus not just on their existing skills and strengths, but also to discover new ones.
Berdichevsky said participation in any regional round could lead to berths at the Global Round hosted at Yale University, United States of America.
