Drona’s International School celebrated its annual day today with a dance and drama programme.

Raipur MLA Umesh Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion. He called upon students to excel both in academics and sports. Academic knowledge was important but it was equally important to play sports as it enhanced the overall personality of a student.

Principal G Bisht read out the annual report of the school. She said the school, apart from good education, had been providing the best of infrastructure to the students.

MLA Sharma also gave away awards to meritorious students. The Best Scholar Award was presented to Suman Rana of class XII. The Best Sportsperson Girl and Boy Awards were presented to Karishma and Shashank, respectively. The Best House trophy was awarded to Aravalli House.

Earlier, the cultural programme was started with Saraswati Vandana, followed by a Garhwali dance showcasing the cultural richness of Uttarakhand. The students of higher classes presented a Hindi play- Tughlaq.

The highlight of the cultural event was a dance programme presented by tiny tots.

Managing director of the school Naveen Singh Bisht and a large number of parents were also present on the occasion.
