Jammu, November 19

Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar, today organised an annual day-cum-prize distribution ceremony at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu (JU) here on the occasion of Universal Children’s Day.

Javed Mussarat, Vice Chancellor, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), was the chief guest while Kiran Bakshi, Principal, Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar and Jia Lal Kotwal, chairman of the Private Schools Association were the guests of honour on the occasion. SP Verma, president, Gandhi Global Family, was also present at the event.

The function began with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries followed by the release of school newsletter ‘Bagisha’. Ganesh Vandana was presented by students of the senior secondary wing of the school. Rameshwar Mengi, principal of the school, delivered the welcome address followed by the presentation of annual report to highlight the achievements of students in scholastic and co-scholastic fields. A colourful cultural programme was also presented by the students on the occasion. —TNS
