A nine-day kids carnival started at Elante Mall here today. The carnival will be held from June 4 to 12 where children can participate in various fun-filled activities, aimed at inculcating scientific temperament among them. The Tribune is the media partner for the carnival.

The carnival offers once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to children to not only meet their favourite cartoon character Dexter for the first time in Chandigarh but also participate in fun-filled activities like robotics, aero-modelling, fabric painting and astronomy.

Commenting on the idea behind holding this event, Manoj Agarwal, head of operations, Elante, said, “The entire exercise has been aimed at enhancing the experience of our young visitors and engaging them in various exciting and fun-filled activities. So, with the schools closed for summer holidays, we decided to offer an exciting experience to the kids coming to the mall. These activities will blend learning with fun to create a memorable and meaningful experience form.”

Elante has designated special toon islands, especially for Dexter lovers, with every zone set aside for separate activities to add to the excitement.

These include a fishing island that is a dream created in reality, a zone where parents and kids can use fishing rods with iron tips to catch magnetic fish and even compete among themselves.

Children can paint their imagination at the canvas island and experts will conduct a competition. The winner will get a chance to display his or her painting at the art gallery during thekids carnival.  At the mechanics island, children can explore the engineer in them and put together airplanes, cranes and cars.

At the mango island, parents can relive old memories of climbing mango trees.

The customers who shop for Rs 3,000 and above at any of the outlets at the mall can register for the carnival.
