Oliver House Pre School and Daycare organised Mango party for children to welcome the king of fruits mango. Children were overwhelmed when their teachers pretended as mango and educated them about its health benefits. Children also brought mangoes, mango jellies and candies to share with their classmates. They were told about other mango products too. The fun element of party was dancing on their favourite tracks and making mango smoothies with the help of teachers. The day ended by watching mango theme based videos.

MYTHOLOGY THEATRical  CONTEST 

Students of Jesus Sacred Heart School had a short stint with history as they crafted a mythological theatrical presentation. In the first ever event of its kind, the school explored the ingenious side of students by organising inter-house theatre competition based on the theme of mythology for classes VIII to X. It was fascinating to see how students enacted and related the age-old values of victory of good over evil and importance of family among other things.

WORLD ASTRONOMY DAY

BCM Senior Secondary School, Sector 32 A, organised a plethora of activities on the school premises to mark World Astronomy Day. Students collected information about astronauts of Indian origin and prepared the collages. Students of Class VIII participated in an essay-writing competition on topic “Imagining yourself travelling through space/living on another planet”. Class-VII students exuberantly participated in discussion on the topic “Earth and other planets”. Students also penned down articles on “Chandra Yaan – India’s First mission to moon” and through many other activities such as power point presentations, deck and depict competitions, learnt about multiple facets of the universe, astronomical heritage monuments in India and how astronomy helps in improving quality of resources on Earth. The best performers were honoured with certificates and appreciation.

RAIN DANCE PARTY

Rain Dance Party-2016 was organised by Everest Pre-Nursery Wing of Everest International Public School with great pomp and show. Tiny-tots came in swimming costumes. Children enjoyed different kinds of swings, presentation at various stalls and swimming in small water pools. Cakes and sweets were distributed among children.

SPRING DALE STUDENTS SHINE 

IN ART CONTEST

Class IX students Gurpreet Singh at Spring Dale Senior Secondary Public School, Sherpur Road, stood first in the ‘On The Spot Art Competition’ held at Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Model Town Extension, to commemorate the 300th Martyrdom Day of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur. As many as 55 competitors from 24 schools participated. Gurpreet Singh bagged the position. He brought laurels not only to his parents, but also to his school. He was honoured with a trophy, a certificate and a colour box.

WORLD MUSEUM DAY

To enhance cultural and heritage knowledge of students, World Museum Day was observed at Ryan International School, Dugri. A visit to the museum was also arranged for students of Class VI onwards, where they saw how ancient people used to write with feathers and how girls weaved clothes and did embroidery. Works by famous painters including MS Gill was also shown to them. They also saw ancient coins and wooden vehicles such as carts which were used as a mode of transportation.  — TNS
