The delay in declaration of results is causing problems for students of Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU). Many students staged a protest against the working of the university on the HPTU campus here today.

The students said a majority of students who wanted to go for a master’s degree in other universities could not apply for admission due to delay in declaring the results of various courses.

They said even the revaluation of papers was being done at a snail’s pace. They demanded a cut in the fee for reappearing in exams. It was surprising that the university was demanding Rs 3,000 for golden chance seekers. It was learnt that students were neither satisfied from the evaluators nor from the process of evaluation. They demanded that the process of sending papers for checking to the residences of evaluators must stop as this could lead to unfair practice.

Dr Ved Praksah Patial, Dean-cum-Controller of Examinations, said there was no delay in the declaration of results and some students who had scored poor marks and had applied for revaluation were raising objections. He said generally it took 30 to 45 days to release the revaluation results as the process included the covering of previous marks and postal delays.
