Ludhiana: A cultural function, ‘Aagaz -n-Aagman’ was held at Khalsa Institute of Management and Technology for Women to welcome freshers. The chief guest, Neeru Katyal Gupta, started the function by lighting traditional lamp, followed by shabad recitation. KK Dhir, founder registrar, PTU, was the guest of honour. LECTURE ON TIME MANAGEMENT
A lecture-cum-demonstration on time management was conducted by Postgraduate Department of Commerce and Management at GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar. Parampal Singh, Associate professor, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College educated students on how to manage time and time-management strategies.
EXTENSION LECTURE
An extension lecture on ‘Dynamics of Interpersonal Skills’ was organised at Kamla Lohtia SD College, Ludhiana, by the Postgraduate Department of Commerce and Management. The lecture was coordinated by Sohinipreet Kaur and Deepak Kapoor and attended by the students of first and second year of MCom. Narender Aggarwal from Gurukul Drona was the resource person. He emphaised upon importance of interpersonal skills needed for a successful career.
WORKSHOP ON BRAND INVENTORY
A one-day workshop on brand inventory was held at Bajaj College, Chaukiman, affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh. Department of fashion designing organised the workshop. Students and faculty visited malls of Ludhiana. The workshop made students aware of consumers’ opinions about brands, fabric and material used by the international brands. A questionnaire was designed to identify potential sources of brand equity. The purpose of the visit was to increase market knowledge and understanding about visual merchandising. —TNS
