Dalhousie, November 21

Dalhousie Public School (DPS), Dalhousie, celebrated the investiture ceremony here on Saturday. Subhash House was declared the best in discipline in the boys and girls categories.

Brigadier B Bhattacharyya, who was the chief guest on the occasion, asked students to become outstanding citizens. He congratulated the outstanding students for their success in life.

Earlier, welcoming the chief guest, DPS director-principal GS Dhillon said the school was maintaining the high ethical standards of education and instilling into the students a spirit of duty, responsibility and service towards the nation. Harminder Singh Bal was chosen school’s captain and Amanpreet Kaur as the head girl. The best student awards for the academic year 2016-17 were given to Khando Wangchuk from Leh and Avisha Shankar Kenjale from Satara in Maharashtra respectively in the boys and girls category. — OC
