Day after polls, party leaders take a break

After hectic election schedule that ended after polling held yesterday, Delhi's star candidates spent day by taking rest, meeting visitors and relatives at their residences. BJP's North-East Delhi candidate and folk singer Manoj Tiwari enjoyed the day by singing and playing with harmonium and piano at his North Avenue residence.

They all had tight schedule of 18 to 20 hours during campaigning, monitoring the election works, in rallies, padyatras, corner meeting, meeting with morning walkers. But after the high profile poll of Delhi ended, they all have taken sigh of relief waiting the result for their political future locked in the EVMS.

The Congress star contestant, 81-year old Sheila Dikshit who has ruled Delhi for 15 consecutive years from 1998 to 2013 said, "I am on rest today after frantic election campaigning for more than two weeks when I had devoted myself for meeting electorates, asking them for votes in the name of 15-year work of my erstwhile government. Today I am meeting visitors and relatives who thronged to my residence at East Nizamuddin."

She met about 100-150 visitors and relatives at her residence taking their blessings of winning the elections.

JP Agarwal, another star candidate of the Congress, said in a heavy voice that today he spent some time with his family members, including two granddaughters before they left for school. He had his morning cup of tea and met a large number of visitors and friends at his residence. He also spent one hour on computer that he had left during the elections.

BJP's star candidate Manoj Tiwari today entertained himself by singing song and playing harmonium and piano enthralling the mediapersons and relatives who visited his residence after the fray.

In the praise of his leader, Tiwari sung, "Voh janta, janta uski; voh Bharat ka pyar hai. "Paanch saal se jo bhi bola, waada kiya sakaar hai."

Another BJP candidate and sitting Union minister Dr Harshvardhan spent his day going through the official files, talking to officials of the ministry and playing ludo game with his wife.
