New Delhi, April 14

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today slammed the Centre over the sealing drive in the Mayapuri area which resulted in violent clashes between the traders and security personnel yesterday and accused it of bypassing the Delhi government in the entire exercise. Sisodia will write to LG Anil Baijal demanding a probe into the entire incident.

Sisodia criticised Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri  for blaming the AAP for violence. Sisodia said the onus of allocation of an alternative space to the traders was with the land agencies which are with the Centre.

"The BJP has been against people of Delhi and always troubled the traders. The way the BJP used paramilitary forces to attack the traders of Mayapuri has once made it evident. The DDA belongs to whom and who was supposed to decide on relocating the scrap market?"asked Sisodia.

The AAP leader claimed the Union Urban Development Ministry was sleeping since 2015 NGT order and now carried out this sealing operation without involving the government.

"Why no land was provided? The Delhi Police is yours, SDMC is yours and we are blamed. They should take accountability for their actions. The Delhi government ministers were not kept in the loop in this decision. They were bypassed by the LG (Anil Baijal)," said the Deputy Chief Minister adding that he is going to demand a probe into the entire incident.

Delhi Environment Minister Imran Hussain noted that he was not consulted before taking action and he is going to write to the LG demanding for suspension of officials involved in bypassing the government.

Sisodia said if the DDA would be transferred to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, then the traders would be provided the alternative land in two days.
