Dehradun, July 16
Two persons were killed and six others were injured seriously when their Bolera jeep fell into a deep gorge in Almora district here today.
Police officials said the Bolero jeep (UK-04TA-7711) was on its way from Kheti to Haldwani. It met with an accident at the Chaura bend on the Dhauladevi-Kheti road around 2 pm.
Locals, with the help of the police, brought the occupants of the jeep out from the gorge.
Two of them were killed while the six injured were admitted to the Dhauladevi Primary Health Centre.
Teen crushed by Sumo
Almora: A 16-year-old student died when he was crushed under a speeding Tata Sumo in the Someshwar market here on Saturday. The deceased, Himanshu Joshi, was a student of class XII in the local intermediate college. He was taken to the local hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.
“The driver of the vehicle is absconding after the incident,” said KR Arya, officer at the Someshwar police station.— OC
