The Police Department celebrated Vanamahotsava by planting 100 saplings of deodar, willow and hibiscus at the Police Lines in Bharari today.

The event aimed at creating awareness about environment conservation.

The function was attended by police personnel from 1st Bn Junga, Shimla district, and all other police units of Shimla.

A spokesperson for the department said efforts were being made by the police to enhance the green cover and beautify police complexes.

Saplings planted

Sundernagar: Members of the Rotary Club today carried out a plantation drive at the Civil Hospital in Sundernagar.

President of the local unit Dr CP Kaushal, along with the members, planted saplings. Ashwani Saini, press secretary of the club, said they had identified sites in and around the town where the saplings could be planted.
