As the infighting in the Chandigarh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) continues, the local unit president, Sanjay Tandon, reached Delhi and complained to senior party leaders against former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Harmohan Dhawan.
Sources in the BJP revealed that Tandon had reached Delhi on Tuesday evening and met senior party leaders this morning. He complained to the party high command that Dhawan and his supporters were raising issues before the media instead of the party forum, sources added.
When contacted, Chandigarh unit president Sanjay Tandon said he was in Delhi but had now reached Raipur in Chhattisgarh as his father was not well.
On meeting with the senior party leaders, Tandon refused to divulge any detail.
Sanjay Tandon’s father Balramji Das Tandon is Governor of Chhattisgarh.
Recently, in the Chandigarh BJP, three audio clips between the BJP general secretary-cum-election in charge for Chandigarh, Prem Kaushik, and a former BJP colony cell convener, Dalip Sharma, had gone viral in the city where questions were raised on the party’s internal poll.
Besides, a video of recent Mayoral polls wherein, BSP councillor Jannat Jahan had targeted Dhawan was also circulated in the city. A poster defaming Dhawan was also released recently.
