Shabad gayan competition

Ludhiana: An Inter-School Baba Gurmukh Singh Shabad Gayan competition was held at GNPS, Sarabha Nagar. As many as 16 teams from the city participated in this competition. The teams were to render the shabads from the Gurbani in the Nirdharit Ragas. GGN Public School won the first position, GNIPS Model Town bagged the second place while Baba Isher Singh Public School stood third. BCM Arya Shastri Nagar and Nankana Sahib Public School were awarded a consolation prize each. 

Dussehra celebrated

The festival of Dussehra was celebrated with traditional gaiety and enthusiasm at the kindergarten section of Guru Nanak Public School. They were also shown PPT explaining the relevance of Dussehra. Various craft activities were performed by the children glorified the occasion. Students were told about the relevance of burning of effigies.

A mela was organized on the scholl premises to celebrate Dusshera. Children dressed up in traditional attire came all excited to watch Ram, Lakshman, Sita and Ravan and other characters. They enjoyed swings and eateries. Special stalls were organised by parents to regale the young audience. This was followed by the dramatisation of the key scenes of Ramayan by the school teachers. 

Students shine

Students of Shabad team of Spring Dale Senior Secondary Public School won first prize in Baba Budha Sahib Memorial Inter-School Shabad Gayan Muqabala held at Guru Gobind Singh Trust, Dashmesh Nagar. 12 teams from all over Punjab participated in the competition. The winners were awarded with trophies, certificates and books. Managing Director Avinash Kaur Walia congratulated the winners applauded them for their outstanding performance. 

Science fair

Students of SDP Senior Secondary School participated in two-day science fair conducted at Government Senior Secondary School School, Sekhewal. Six Students presented models on various topics out of which four students got first and one student got third position, respectively. Jasminder Singh Lamba, a teacher, won first position in extempore speech.” Balraj Kumar Bhasin, president and Jasveer Singh Chauhan, principal, applauded the performance of students and teachers and congratulated them for wonderful performance.

Baby show

A baby show was organised at Ram Lal Bhasin Public School. Different events for students and parents were organised during the show such as solo performance of dance and songs, fancy dresses, and healthy baby and photogenic face competition. Ramp walk was performed by mothers. Prizes to the winners of the various events were awarded. Principal Raman Oberoi congratulated the participants and said the event was an attempt to strengthen the bond with parents and their little gems.

Awareness programme

Students from Ryan International School visited the Neechi Mangli village adopted by the school. Students of class VI-VIII organised an awareness programme on diseases to raise awareness about common prevailing diseases such as cholera, typhoid, dengue and malaria caused by contaminated food, water and unhygienic conditions. Along with this, a survey was conducted by the students to spread knowledge about prevention in order to protect themselves from diseases. Principal Gurpal Kaur Anand, said, “Under the project ‘Transformation of a village’ our students often visit Neechi Mangli and involve the children in various fruitful activities.”

Students win laurels

Students of BCM Arya School lifted overall winner trophy of District Roller Skating 

Competition at Leisure Valley. The competition was organised by District Roller Skating Federation. The school bagged 18 gold medals, 21 silver medals and 14 bronze medals in various categories. 

Dandia festival

Dandia Dhamaka was organised at ABC Montessori School (BRS Nagar). More than 70 students and teachers joined the celebrations. Everybody was in their best traditional dresses. As the band played popular numbers, the little ones got fully involved and swayed to the rhythm of Dandiya music. Jaspreet Kaur was declared as Dandiya queen, Divjot Singh was declared as Dandia king, Prabhinayat was announced as Dandiya queen girl and Manraj was announced asDandiya king.

Maths quiz 

Maths quiz was conducted for developing mental ability of students at Ryan International School, Dugri. The competition was divided into four rounds which covered general round, calculation round, visual round and rapid fire round. It included activities like doing lengthy calculations in limited time, recognising shapes and solving puzzles. Students actively participated in the competition as they enjoyed the learning and exhibiting their knowledge in mathematics by competing with each other during competition. — TNS
