Pahal, a social organisation, today organised a programme on World Old Age Day to honour veterans for their significant contributions in various fields of life.

State Commissioner, Bharat Scouts and Guides ID Soni, educationist Prof Zuhur-ud-Din, social worker Raj Bharti, writer KK Shakir, president, Dogri Sanstha, J Chatrpal and social activist Dr Gurmeet Singh were honoured by the organisation.

Freedom fighter from Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s Azad Hind Fauj 104-year-old Munshi Ram was the chief guest on the occasion. He shared his memories spent with Netaji and highlighted the importance of old people in the society.

Dr Gurmeet Singh also presented a cheque for Rs 11,000 to the Old Age Home, Ambphalla.
