Most of the ATMs remained empty while the few ones which had cash were thronged by a large number of people. Long queues were seen outside ATMs which were working.

Interesting, the Uttarakand Police provided some relief to the harassed customers by providing water and tea to people standing in long queues.

Earlier some Congress workers had also provided tea and water to customers standing outside banks and ATMs on Sunday on the instructions of vice-president Rahul Gandhi.

The Uttarakhand unit of the BJP also announced that its workers would also help the bank customers by providing tea and water to them.
