Basant Panchmi celebrated
Ludhiana: Guru Gobind Singh Public School, Pakhowal Road, Daad, celebrated Basant Panchmi with great zeal on the school premises.The campus was decorated with items of yellow colour to mark the occasion. Tiny tots came dressed in yellow attires and turbans. Some students have also brought sweetened rice. Students of the school worshipped Saraswati, goddess of wisdom. Principal Dr Manjit Kaur blessed the students.
DCM Presidency School
Glorious day of Basant Panchami was celebrated at the school. A special assembly was also organised. The ambience was filled with jubiliation. Students began the auspicious day with a prayer. The celebrations commenced with the Saraswati Vandana, invoking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati for seeking knowledge and wisdom. Principal Nupur Nutan said we celebrate such occasions to make the students aware of their culture and tradition.
Oliver Preschool
Oliver House, Preschool and Daycare, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, celebrated Basant Panchami with great enthusiasm. Children were explained that this festival was celebrated by many religions in India. People worship Goddess Saraswati, wear yellow clothes, eat sweet dishes and display yellow flowers in their homes. BVM School
To welcome the onset of spring season, Basant Panchmi was celebrated at BVM School, Chandigarh Road, with great zeal and enthusiasm. Students from Pre Nursery to Class II came dressed in yellow attire along with yellow flowers looked like golden stars captivated everyone. The day began with Saraswati Vandana. Every one paid floral tributes to the Goddess Saraswati. Meena Sharma highlighted the importance of the day with her outstanding speech. The great martyr Veer Hakikat was also remembered on this day. Principal Rajni Arora felicitated the winners and congratulated everyone on this auspicious occasion and exhorted the students to plant at least one sapling every year.
Green Land Convent School, Civil City
The school celebrated Basant Panchami, festival which marks the end of the winter season and onset of spring. The school was abuzz with the festive spirit. The celebrations commenced with the Saraswati Vandana, invoking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati for seeking knowledge and wisdom. Tiny tots were dressed in yellow colour attires and offered floral prayers to Goddess Saraswati. Students had brought home cooked traditional yellow coloured dishes. Principal Alka Mahajan said the festival signifies the happiness and comes to brighten up our lives and bless us.
Jain Public School
The school organised Basant Fair. Students from all the classes participated with greal zeal and fervour. Parents were also involved in the celebrations.
Polio awareness campaign
Ryan International School organised an awareness campaign on the advantages and necessity of administering polio drops to children up to 5 years. Students in association with ESI Dispensary, Vardaan Campus, carried the responsibility of administrating polio vaccine to children up to the age of 5. Awareness drive and relentless effort by the students proved fruitful. Their efforts and zeal were appreciated by principal Gurpal Anand.
Annual athletics meet
An annual athletics meet concluded today at Jesus Sacred Heart School. Aerobics by young and energetic athletes was a treat for the spectators. Chairperson Amarjeet Kaur Sehgal was the chief guest. Fabulous display of well-coordinated and rhythmic movements of the students mesmerised everyone. Spectators were enthralled by the feats performed by the students of the school. Students displayed their strength and stamina in various track and field events.
Sports meet
Sports meet was held at Peace Public School. The meet declared open by the chairperson SC Jain. Students participated in various track and field events. Bhanvi Gava was declared best athlete under-14 in the girls category Ashish Gaba won the title of best athelete in the boys’ category.
Farewell party
A wonderful adieu was given to the students of Class XII at the SDP School. Students of Class XI extended a warm and hearty welcome to their seniors. The function started with a welcome speech. School was decked up with flowers.
BCM School
A farewell party was organised in the premises of BCM Senior Secondary School, Focal Point, to bid adieu to students of Class XII. A cultural programme was presented by the students of Class XI. Colourful dance performances were presented and melodious songs were sung by the students of Class XI. Students of Class XI performeda skit. Principal Neeru Kaura inspired the students to work hard to achieve their aim. — TNS
