Awareness rally on family planning

An awareness rally was held today to mark the population stabilisation fortnight and diarrhoea campaign in Dehradun under the aegis of the Department of Health and Family Welfare.
The campaign was flagged off by Principal Secretary, Medical Health and Family Welfare, Om Prakash. Students of MKP Inter College, DAV Public School, NSS, NCC, Rajkiya Inter College and Nursing College participated in the rally.
The rallyists marched to spread awareness among the people about controlling population by adopting family planning methods and to take remedial measures in case of outbreak of diarrhea.
A symposium was also held after the rally in which participants threw light on these issues.
Dr Archana Srivastav, director, National Health Programme, said ORS packets would be distributed by ASHA workers. The slums would also be targeted during the monsoon so that people residing there could take utmost care during the season.
