Residents of Bhago Majra Colony falling under the Kharar Municipal Council (MC) are forced to live in hell-like conditions in the absence of proper disposal system of dirty water in the colony.
Jasvir Singh, Varinder Singh, Kulwinder Singh and Harbans Singh, colony residents, said they had given written complaints to the Mohali Deputy Commissioner, Kharar SDM, Municipal Council president and officers concerned several times in the past one year, but nothing had been done so far.
They said in the absence of proper disposal system of dirty water in this colony, water accumulated in front of their houses. Due to the presence of this dirty water, foul smell was making their lives miserable and it had also become a breeding ground for mosquitoes, they added. They further said due to uneven leveling of roads, water accumulated in streets also.
It was astonishing that village residents repeatedly complained about this, but no action was taken by the administration or the Municipal Council, they added.
When asked about it, Sarabjit Kaur, member of Ward No. 1 of the Kharar MC, said the matter was under consideration and it would be solved soon.
