Tribune Model School off to a winning start

Pushpa scored a hat-trick as the hosts Tribune Model School overcame Infant Jesus Convent School 5-4 in their opening match of The Tribune Trust Football Championship here on Monday.

Shivani and Shenaz scored a goal each for the hosts, while Tanishka scored all the four goals for Infant Jesus School.

Ankur Public School blanked Chandigarh Baptist School 4-0. Arshi, Tanisha Rana, Khushi and Loveleen scored a goal each for the winners.

In the last match of the day, Carmel Convent School, Sector 9, overcame St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, 1-0. Vishi scored the winning goal for St Joseph’s.

Harsh scores 4 goals

Earlier, Harsh scored four goals to help The Tribune Model School drub St Peter’s School, Sector 37, 5-0 in the boys’ competition. Amit Yadav struck once for the side.

Ankur School, Sector 14, registered a 3-0 win over Infant Jesus Convent School, Mohali. Dev scored the opening goal for Ankur Public School in the second minute, while Pranav doubled the lead eight minutes later. Nitin scored the third and final goal for the side in the 20th minute.

St Xavier’s School, Sector 44, overcame Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School, Sector 38, 2-1. Kushaan and Packit scored a goal each for St Xavier’s, while Khushil reduced the margin for Sri Harkrishan School.

In another match, St Joseph’s Senior Secondary, Sector 44, defeated Chandigarh Baptist School, Sector 45, 3-2. Jagan scored a brace, while Simran struck once for the winners. Janshu scored both the goals for Baptist.
