Sufi singer Mamta Joshi performed at a two-day festival, ‘Rang-e- Masti’, which began at Tagore Theatre here today.

Joshi, an academician, doled out kalaams of Sufi mystics such as Baba Bulleh Shah, Shah Hussain, Amir Khusro and more, which submerged the audience in fervour.

Accompanied by eight piece orchestra and vocal support, Joshi weaved magic of melody as her melodious voice wafted across the theatre hall.

She presented ‘Jane wale hamari mehfil se chand taaron’, Amir Khusro’s ‘Chhap tilak’, Ghalib’s ‘Harek baat pe’, Bulleh Shah’s ‘Mera piya ghar aya’ and ‘Menda ishq vi tu menda yaar vi tu’. She concluded with a boisterous number, ‘Dama dum mast qalander’.

Chief guest Sanjeev Kalra, Kamal Arora and Atul Sharma honoured Joshi and team.
