Chandigarh: Stepping Stones International School observed ‘Kargil Victory Day’. Students presented a special assembly based on the victory of Kargil war, which included slogans, poems and a brief history of the war. A documentary based on the war was shown to students. It explained the students about the significance of the Kargil Vijay Divas and the sacrifices of the war heroes, which was also followed by inspirational and emotional videos of the war. 

PML SD Public School 

Chandigarh: PML SD Public School, Sector-32-C, organised a fresher's party for the students of Class XI of various streams. A colourful cultural programme was presented on the occasion. Students dressed in their best attires participated in exciting games and won prizes. The title of Ms Charming was bagged by Rashi of Class XII-B2 Commerce and Mr Handsome was bagged by Pranav Bansal of Class XI-A1 Comm. The coveted title of the Best Dressed (Girl) was bagged by Bhoomika of Class XI-Arts-B and the title of the Best Dressed (Boy) was grabbed by Rhythm of Class XI-A3 Commerce. Kanishka Anand of Class XI-A Arts and Yashraj of Class XI-B1 were honored with the title of Ms Fresher and Mr Fresher, respectively.

Shishu Niketan Sr Sec School

Chandigarh: An intra-house language quiz was organised at Shishu Niketan Model Sr Sec School, Sector-22-D, in order to check language proficiency among students. The quiz tested the grammar and rhetoric skills of Class VIII students. In a nail biting finish, Vindhyanchal House won the contest.

Ryan International School 

Chandigarh: Ryan International School, Chandigarh, started a plantation drive. Students went along with their teachers to Ashiana Enclave, Sector 48-C, to plant the saplings. This was initiated to spread the message and vision of the school for “Green India Clean India”. With great enthusiasm, the students planted the saplings in the society. The members of the society warmly greeted the students and appreciated the school’s efforts. 

Saint Soldier Int’l School 

Chandigarh: To pay homage to the martyrs of the Kargil War and to remember their sacrifices, students of Class VII-D of Saint Soldier International School, Sector 28-B, Chandigarh, presented a special assembly on the war. The assembly commenced with a beautiful thought delivered by Harjot, in praise of the Indian Flag. It was followed by a speech in which Riya brought the memory of the war in the minds of the audience. — TNS
