Students of Shishu Niketan Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 22-D, celebrated World Earth Day. A number of competitions were organised by the school eco club, ‘Sanjeevani’. Kashish from Class IX and Vaishnavi of Class X created awareness on the need and importance of the day during the morning assembly. Students and the staff wore ‘Save Earth’ badges. They pledged to conserve water, electricity and renewable resources.

PML SD Public, Chandigarh

Students of PETALS (a unit of Pandit Mohan Lal SD Public School) celebrated World Earth Day. They came dressed in green and brought green edibles. Benefits of planting more trees, keeping air surroundings clean and smoke-free environment were explained to them.

St Xavier's, Panchkula

The staff and students of St Xavier's High School, Panchkula, gathered to celebrate the school principal's birthday. The programme included inter-house declamation and a short cultural programme, including songs and dances.

AKSIPS-45, Chandigarh

AKSIPS-45 Smart School celebrated Earth Day with a myriad of educational and fun activities. A special assembly was held to sensitise the students about their role in addressing global environmental challenges. Students of from pre-primary to Class X were involved in activities such as slogan writing, poster making, best-out-of-waste and PowerPoint presentation. Students of Classes VII to VIII created awareness among the masses through a flash mob at Bestech Square Mall, Sector 66, Mohali.

St Joseph’s, Chandigarh

Students of St Joseph’s School, Sector 44-D, dived into a myriad of activities to celebrate Earth Day. Students of Class III showcased their creativity by making wind chimes with recycled materials and messages. Students of Class IV displayed their artistic talent to create flowers whereas students of Class V tried their hands on stone painting.

SIS Public, Mohali

A special assembly was organised to celebrate World Earth Day. It was aimed at sensitising the students about green and clean environment. An educational play highlighted the responsibility of human beings towards protecting the planet. 

Ashiana Public, Chandigarh

World Earth Day was celebrated at Ashiana Public School with enthusiasm. The event commenced with a cleanliness drive to make sure that students keep their surroundings clean and tidy. Children also participated in creative activities such as colouring, painting and poster-making. The school director and principal apprised the children of their responsibility towards the Earth. Students of the junior wing prepared headgears depicting cleaner and greener earth. 

Manav Mangal, Zirakpur 

Investiture for the 2019-20 session was organised at the auditorium of Manav Mangal School. As many as 36 students of senior classes were honoured with badges, sashes and scrolls. The student leaders were assigned various duties and they took charge of their responsibilities in the oath-taking ceremony. The ceremony began with Principal Aneela Kinder honouring head boy Ratnesh Bhardwaj and head girl Mishthi Sharma with badges of honour, sashes and the scrolls. Sports captain, vice-captain and discipline captain were also honoured. All student leaders took an oath to deliver their duties responsibly. TNS
