Ryan International School, Chandigarh, celebrated its 14th Founder’s Day. The school premises was decorated with hand-made cards, message cards and birthday boards. A special assembly was also conducted. Activities like free-hand drawing, fun games preceded the cake-cutting ceremony at the Montessori section. Cup cake decoration, cookie decoration, crown making, elocution competition, singing competition and card-making competition was also held. The day culminated with distribution of chocolates among students.

Shishu Niketan Public School

An inter-house quiz competition for Classes IX and X was held at Shishu Niketan Public School, Mohali. Himgiri House won the competition followed by Nilgiri House. Rakhi-making activity was also held for the junior classes.

Mount Litera Zee School

A workshop was conducted on disaster management by NITSRDR, ITBP, to create awareness among students. Students from Classes I to X were sensitised on various disasters like earthquake, flood, fire and road accidents. It was done by an expert team under the leadership of Inspector Vijay Kumar.

Tribune Model School

The kindergarten section of the Tribune Model School celebrated Janamashtami with great joy and fervour. The little ones danced to the tunes of Radha and Krishna songs. The children were dressed as Radha and Krishna. They enthusiastically participated in the special story-telling session on Lord Krishna’s life.

DC Model Sr Sec School

A workshop was conducted under the FSSAI’s ‘Safe and Nutritious Drive’ by Dabur India at DC Model Sr Sec School, Panchkula. Students of primary section were apprised about the importance of safe and healthy food through skits and role plays.

St Joseph’s Sr Sec School 

St Joseph’s Sr Sec School, Sector 44-D, Chandigarh, took an initiative to lend a helping hand to those affected by Kerala floods. A large amount was collected for the noble cause and was sent to the Kerala Chief Minister's Distress Fund (CMDF).

Bhavan Vidyalaya Junior

Bhavan Vidyalaya Junior organised face-painting competition for students of Classes IV and V. The theme of the event was ‘Water conservation’. The winners were Medha Gupta and Arshia Manchanda.

KB DAV Sr Sec Public School

KB DAV Senior Secondary Public School, Sector 7-B, organised Srimad Bhagwad Gita Inter-DAV Shloka Recitation Competition in collaboration with Gita Prachar Samiti, Panchkula. Around 145 students from DAV institutions from tricity, Dera Bassi and Surajpur participated in the competitions. — TNS
