A 35-year-old physicist in the US, who undertook various projects for the US defence wing, Apple and Samsung in optics, has developed a mobile-based application – “Alpha: Cab Compare” for comparing the fares of Uber and Ola cab services so that users can save money.

The app was developed by Nitin Rawat, a mechanical engineering graduate from Punjab Engineering College (PEC). The application is co-founded by Nitin (33), a senior equity adviser of a Chandigarh-based firm. It is a one-stop app where a consumer can view the fares of both cab services on a single platform.

With Alpha, there will be no need to switch apps for checking fares. The user will be able to make his/her choice of selecting cabs and track the real-time location of cars and drivers. Other app features include comparing the price, checking availability, avoiding surge and getting a fare estimate prior to booking. The application provides a one-time login for hassle-free service to book the cheapest cab within minutes.

The mobile application compares the prices all major cabs to maximise convenience, accessibility and ease of its users. It saves users the task of juggling around multiple cab apps for price comparison and helps book a cab instantly.
