Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi sent to 4-day police remand

Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi was brought on production warrant from Rajasthan to Chandigarh today for establishing his role in conspiring Burail resident Sonu Shah’s murder on September 28.

The police have obtained four-day remand from a local court. While Bishnoi will remain in custody of crime branch and currently been lodged in crime branch lock up.

The Chandigarh Police will now interrogate his involvement in the murder of Shah’s murder as the main conspirator. The police will question Bishnoi about revealing the identity of gang members and how were the weapons supplied to them for committing the murder at Burail. The police will also probe how the conspiracy of murder was hatched while Bishnoi was in jail.

The police have so far arrested 28-year-old Mohali based hotelier, Dharminder, who confessed to have helped the assailants, who murdered Shah, on the directions of Bishnoi. Dharminder is now lodged in Burail jail.

The police have also arrested 25-year-old criminal, Shubham Prajapati after obtaining his custody on production warrants from Khanna, Punjab. He is in seven-day police remand and is being interrogated to ascertain the names of his accomplices. His links with gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Sampat Nehra are also being probed.

The police will also cross question all three of the accused – Shubham Prajapati, Dharminder and Lawrence Bishnoi during the remand period.

On the day of the murder, a facebook post from the name of Lawrence Bishnoi claimed responsibility for the murder. The accused caught so far also accept that they committed murder on directions of Bishnoi.
