Dr Kewal Krishan, Chairperson of the Department of Anthropology, PU, has been conferred the status of honorary member of the American Society of Forensic Podiatry (ASFP), Oregon, USA.

Krishan is a distinguished scientist with exceptional contribution to the field of forensic science. The honorary status is granted by a unanimous vote of the Board of Directors of the society.

The ASFP is an organisation of forensic scientists and doctors created for the advancement of the cause of forensic podiatry and to develop and maintain the highest standards of practice via research, discussion, education and publication.

Forensic podiatry deals with the evidence related to human foot at the crime scene.

Dr Krishan is a renowned forensic scientist who has contributed immensely to the development of forensic anthropology and podiatry in India. He has devised some of the new techniques and methods regarding the footprint science which may be helpful in associating footprint with the criminal at the crime scene.
