“The road gullies were not properly cleaned. Wild growth in the N-choe was not cut down, which hampered the water flow during the recent downpour and caused overflowing of the nullah,” said Sidhu.

The MLA also asked the officials to chalk out a plant to bring the level of roads down to their previous levels.

“Due to repeated re-carpeting, the level of roads has risen. This is the major reason behind rainwater entering the houses,” said the MLA.

The level of Airport road, which hampers the natural gradient of water flow in the area, also needs to be downed and a causeway needs to be constructed there for the smooth flow of rainwater, said the MLA.

Mohali ADC Charandev Singh Mann and Mohali MC Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman were also present in the meeting.
