Miffed at wrong parking, Sec 19 RWA writes to DGP

Perturbed over no action by the local police against illegally parked vehicles inside parks and outside houses, the Resident Welfare Association (RWA), Sector 19-C, today shot an email to the UT DGP.

In the complaint, the RWA, Sector 19-C, wrote that the vehicles were parked inside the park in front of house number 2170 and 2197. Two messages, along with photos of the violations, were sent to the police on their WhatsApp group, but they did not take any action.

Two calls were also made to 1073 to challan the vehicles for wrong parking, but no action was still taken by the authorities. “This is the working of the Chandigarh Police and you are requested to visit the area on the weekend and see how local residents are suffering due to inaction by cops,” said RWA president AK Dhadwal.

“It has destroyed the greenery and damaged the road berms. Emergency vehicles cannot enter the area in case of urgency due to wrong parking on both sides of road. You are requested to take action against the guilty police officials for not reaching the spot in spite of phone call and hold a departmental inquiry against them,” added Dhadwal.
