MCM girls win handball meet

Chandigarh, May 6

MCM DAV College, Sector 36, won the Chandigarh Women’s Handball Tournament organised by the UT Sports Department at the Sector 42 sports complex on Sunday. In the final, MCM defeated Sector 23 Coaching Centre 26-15.

Deepa scripted MCM’s win by contributing 12 goals, while Kavita (6 goals) and Ankita (5 goals) were the other main contributors. For the Sector 23 outfit, Madhu (9 goals) was the top scorer. Dreams Youth Club, Sector 19, finished at the third position by registering a 29-19 win over Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 56. Alisha scored 10 goals in the win while Ayushie and Sujata contributed five goals each. For the Sector 56 government school, Payal contributed three goals, Supreeti added two, while Jyoti and Smriti added one each.

The winners were awarded with cash awards by Dr. Eish Singhal, SP HQ and Vigilance.SP HQ and Vigilance.
