Karandeep moves into final

City golfer Karandeep Kochhar is among the 111 players who successfully advanced to the final stage of the 2018 Asian Tour Qualifying School, in Thailand.
Kochhar finished tied-21st with a card 2-over-286 at the St. Andrews 2000 course.
Among the field of 118 players, 36 survived the cut set at 4-over-288.
Nine Indians had appeared in the first stage, but Kochhar, who shot 67-70-72-77, was the only one to cross the opening hurdle and make it to the final stage.
Kochhar along with other qualifiers will now join 131 players, who had already been given a direct entry into the final stage.
The qualifying school will be played over 90 holes --- five rounds --- at the Rayong Green Valley Country Club and St. Andrews Course in Rayong from January 10-14.
The final stage will feature 242 players, who will play two rounds before the field is cut to the leading 140.
After 72 holes, the field will be further cut to the leading 70 players and ties, who will then proceed to the fifth and final round to be held at the Rayong Green Valley.
At the conclusion of 90 holes, the top 35 players and ties will be ranked accordingly for the 2018 season.
